Duck Foie Gras

A delicacy enjoyed by royalty for centuries

Foie Gras is obtained by gently force-feeding ducks 2 to 3 times per day for three weeks. Ducks naturally force feed themselves in the colder months of the year before migrating; this is to ensure they build enough reserves to fly the long distances of migration.

The ancient Egyptians were the first to notice this and take advantage by catching the birds just before they were ready to migrate.
